Partnering with and building collaborative relationships with culturally specific coalitions and organizations is critical for meeting the STOP Formula Grant culturally specific set-aside and building a more equitable grantmaking strategy. In this STOP TA Clinic, the ALSO STAAR TA team hosts a conversation with Shira Phelps, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Office of Crime Victim Services, and Pa Thao, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Black and Brown Womyn Power Coalition, Inc. (BBWP). During the Clinic, we examine how the STOP Administering Agency in Wisconsin has partnered with culturally specific entities including BBWP and explore why increasing funding for culturally specific work should be an important priority for STOP Administrators and mainstream service providers.
